I’m a proud graduate of The University of Texas at Austin and I am currently working as a freelance broadcaster in Seoul, South Korea. I’ve worked in many different capacities in the broadcasting field, from script editor/translator, sportscaster, host of various radio/TV programs, business news anchor and reporter, to my most recent stint as an associate producer of a major natural history documentary on Antarctica (currently in production, set to air on MBC of South Korea in Dec. 2011). Some of my current and past employers include EBS FM, TBS eFM, EBS eTV, Arirang TV, Arirang Radio, MBC and NHK (Japan).
I’m a sports fanatic and love my San Antonio Spurs and the UT Longhorns with all of my heart. I also love seeking out adventures, which led me to participate in the wildly popular Internet competition run by Tourism Queensland of Australia, called “The Best Job in the World”. I became a final 16 candidate out of more than 34,000 from around the world, but didn’t quite get to the top. That experience led me to becoming the Tourism Ambassador for Tourism Queensland in Korea and I continue to work closely with the TQ office in Seoul in this capacity.
This site was actually started for my “Best Job” campaign but it has now evolved into a small window into my life for my family and friends to enjoy. With that said, everyone is welcome to stop by for a peek of course. Although I don’t post or update nearly as much as I would like to, my newly acquired interest for the new media platform is encouraging me to experiment a bit more each and every day, so hopefully, I can start putting up more quality content. Thanks for stopping by and I hope you enjoy my stories, adventures and the occasional ramblings.
Best,
Juweon Jonathan Kim
